What to bring

Denny's Guide Service will provide each diver with all the tanks, air and weights they'll need during their stay with us. We use a harness style weight belt to ensure a good fit for most divers, but if you own a weight integrated BC, bring it with you and we'll provide you with the lead.

Other than the heavy tanks and weights, you will want to bring all of your own dive gear. We feel that diving with gear you are familiar with provides an extra margin of safety. If, however, you forget something at home or were not able to fit everything into your gear bag, let us know ahead of time so we can make arrangements for you. There is a fully stocked dive shop located in Sitka so most of your own extra gear needs can be met here in town.

If you are not yet dry suit-certified, you will want to be before you get to Sitka. The winter water temperature here hovers in the mid-forties and wetsuit diving is almost completely out of the question. Keep in mind that a good, thick wetsuit will probably suffice for a single dive day, but for repetitive diving, a dru suite is really the way to go. If getting your dry suit certification is something you would like to accomplish while you are in Sitka, please call us ahead of time so we can get you in touch with the local instructor. Class times vary, so we can't make any promises when it comes to additional training.
